Junior Flight Operations Clerk
A company based at Lanseria International Airport is recruiting for a Junior Flight Operations Clerk to join their team as soon as possible.
A typical day entails working mostly in the office, deal with overflight & landing permissions, aircraft ground handling arrangements, fuel, flight planning, flight cost estimations, crew and PAX VIP arrangements worldwide. The operation runs 24 hours/365 days a year, members work as per the roster.
General Requirements:
- Must be a South Africa Citizen
- Able and willing to work abnormal hours and over weekends, public holidays and night shifts as per roster. The roster is similar to airlines where team members are rostered to work around 45 hours a week, sometimes overtime to 55 hours. (Non-negotiable)
- A positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. The job is demanding and requires a person to be able to think outside the box.
- Reside within a 45km radius of Lanseria International Airport.
- Be able to work remotely as well as at the office (hybrid solution). Person mostly works from home.
- Own private and reliable transport (Non-negotiable)
- Able to work under “bullwhip stress levels”
- Have a special interest in aviation and specifically the operations environment behind the scenes.
- Willing to work as part of a team or independently as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Studying towards a PPL or CPL or;
- A completed flight following qualification
- Computer literate, ability to work with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, WhatsApp, Signal (skills will be tested)
- Driver’s license
- Clear criminal record
- Logistics qualification - advantageous
- Matric with Mathematics, Science and Geography - advantageous
- Travel industry work experience - advantageous
- Foreign language - advantageous
Salary and benefits
- Market related salary
- Performance bonus at management discretion at year end (not guaranteed)

Location
Lanseria International Airport is the company's base but the candidate mostly works from home. When they travel to the airport to perform handling the company covers travel costs.
Working arrangements
- 1st 2-3 weeks training at a location near Lanseria International Airport. The company will provide food and drink, trainee needs to cover travel cost.
- After training candidate will be allowed to attempt to work from home.
- Laptop + extra screen will be provided
- Candidate needs to have access to WIFI at home and a quiet area to work from.
- Telephone access is given via a Teams app that is installed on the employees mobile device.
- Allot of communication happens on WhatsApp, candidate is expected to treat WhatsApp as form of communication.
